Two in Tow: Baguio Adventure with Kids - Day 2

The next day we went to Hotel Elizabeth because we plan to have our breakfast at Bliss Cafe, sadly, it was still closed at around 9am. We were asked to comeback by 10. We walked to Wright Park and had our strawberry taho for our early fill. I must say it didn't disappoint. The strawberry flavor was a palate pleaser.

I wanted to have our pictures taken wearing the Ifugao ensemble. For 10 pesos each, we were able to borrow some garb and have our photos taken.

After our photo op, we saddled up and took a mini horseback tour. Baguio was beautiful. It felt like somewhere else. I've been to Pebble Beach in Monterey, California and it felt like that. The cold breeze. The smell. The sun's rays as they slip through the branches of tall pine trees. It was amazing. We went down for a quick photo op at the Mansion House.

Then we went on our way. We asked the horse boys to drop us off at Hotel Elizabeth to which they obliged.

By 10:30am, we were already having breakfast at Bliss Cafe.

After breakfast, we rode a taxi to Camp John Hay. The kids played in the swing and seesaw.

Then we had a tour at the Bell House. This was formerly a vacation house for the Commanding General of the Philippines.  It was General Bell who transformed Camp John Hay into a major military resort. It was so serene being on this place. And the vista was breathtaking. The air is so cool and the place so quiet. I can only hear our chatters and laughters. We could waste more time here. But we needed to move on.

We were supposed to do the Treetop Adventures but S didn't make the height requirement. It was an all or nothing thing. We can't go without S so we just decided to forego this activity. We proceeded to the Baguio Botanical Garden.

The highlight of our visit was the sketching sessions we had with two of the artists from the Baguio Arts Guild. You can sit down with an artist and have yourself sketched for about 15 minutes. I'm impressed. And you decide the price of your artwork. There's no fixed price. They don't call it payment but donation. We gave P100 for each piece.

After our Botanical Garden escapade, we had a hearty merienda at Choco-late de Batirol. Old comfort food and Bagiuo, perfect.

We proceeded to Baguio Country Club's Christmas Village. The whole thing lights up as darkness crept in. They had machines that produced soap suds (na nagpapanggap na snow). But really, kahit napuno ng sabon at nabasa ng bongga, enjoy pa rin ang mga bata. Para sa kanila, snow pa rin yun. Ergo, sulit ang bayad.

We ended the day with a take out dinner at the nearby Sizzling Plate Baguio.
