We
woke up early to be at the Bencab Museum, owned by the famous Filipino artist Ben Cabrera. We ordered breakfast at the Musuem's Cafe Sabel. We
goofed around and take in the scenery while waiting for our food. And i
must say the wait was worth it. All that we ordered vanished into thin
air. Proof of how satisfied we were. I must say we had our best Baguio
breakfast here.

We were toured by a guide inside the
museum. I'm happy and impressed at the same time. Impressed that we
actually have an art museum that is at par with some of the museums I've
seen outside the Philippines. Happy because this museum, this little
patch of land, houses some wonderful pieces of art and they're made my
Filipinos. My heart is bursting with pride.

Since the
museum is off the beaten path, we rode a taxi going in. Now the problem is going out. We've waited for a taxi but there was none. We rode a jeepney instead to bring us to a more
taxi-friendly place. Good thing we found one. We went to the Easter Weaving Room. We saw
how the weaving process is done. We also bought some nice shoes and sweaters here.
We then proceeded to a Chinese Temple for some photo
ops. It wasn't the best place to visit but we just made the most out of
it.
We rode a jeepney to La Trinidad's Strawberry Farm. This was the highlight of our day. We picked strawberries to our
hearts delight. The good thing was, the sun wasn't harsh and the air was
cool. We were instructed by the owner to pick on the farther end of his
field. He told us that there were four groups ahead of us who picked
on the same spot were planning to do our picking.
We had a great time
and the kids were kept busy. We also did some flower picking. For 50
pesos per plant, not per stem mind you, we got to experience how it was
like to flower pick in a Baguio flower farm.
We're
done for the day after our La Trinidad trip. We had our super late
lunch at Hillstation. While waiting for our order, we had a brief
rendezvous at the Mt. Cloud Bookshop just right beside the resto.
I
always thought that we can get lost and waste time in a place where
books abound. But we need to eat, so we bid goodbye to this quaint and
homey place. The food was satisfying and their signature ice cream was
the perfect ending.
We went back to our hotel and rest
for a while. After recharging, we decided to go to the hotel's rooftop and
experience Baguio's chilly night. And it exceeded expectations. It was
the chilliest night I've experienced in the Philippines, without the aid of any cooling device. To curb the
coldness, we had a quick noodle dinner at a nearby chinese restaurant -Central Park. We love their Roasted Peking Duck Noodle.
Mainit na sabaw sa
malamig na gabi, perfect combi.
