Kwentong Nanay - Mas Mahalaga ang Kopya sa Original

I love reading stories to my children.  I'm in a habit of checking out second-hand bookshops like Booksale, Pick-a-Book and Books for Less for wonderful cheap finds.  But I also love local books for children.  For this, I go to National Bookstore.  I usually buy those ranging from 60 to 75 pesos.  R has been reading on her own for quite sometime now and I'm very happy and proud of this achievement of her.  I would really love my kids to fall in love with reading.  I know it can take them to places they've never been.  It can make them imaginative and creative.  And somehow, through the characters and their scenarios that they'll encounter with every book, they'll develop empathy and have a better understanding of how other people live their lives.

Lampara Books has this "Kwentong Nanay Series". I think there are 8 books in this series.  And each one of them, is about moms.  I bought one book - Sikat ang Mommy Ko! and gave this to R. I haven't seen her read this book but one day, I just came home from work and she gave me a piece of paper with her usual artsy handwriting. And I must say, it made my day.

R is one sweet kid. I wouldn't narrate her sweet gestures here but as her mom for almost seven years, I can fairly say that she has the gift to melt my heart in what seemed like mundane and ordinary things.  But of course, I'm her mom.  I must admit, I'm biased.  But still, I would like to share with you the "certificate" that R gave me because she read it in a book.  I definitely got more than what I paid for.
