Letter writing, is a very good way to connect with people and to express sentiments and experiences. It made me think retrospectively about my feelings and perspective on different things and issues.
Have you ever thought of writing to your kids? Even if they don't know how to read yet? Even if they're just babies and toddlers?
I love writing letters so I thought that writing to my children, R (4 years and old) and S (not even a month old), would be a good idea. And boy was I right. Just months ago, I started to maintain a notebook where I write to them. Some just for R, others just for S and some others for both of them. It's my way of doing an account of my life, only I made it more relating to my children. I know through my letters, they would know me better and hopefully, they'll know that my love for them knows no bounds.
I know I wouldn't be able to go back to "this day" and remember lucidly how "this day" feels and looks like. So instead of just taking photographs, I also write about "this day" through letters to my daughters. It's my way of documenting my experiences and sharing it with them. I don't know how long I'll be around, I realized that my letters can be reassuring in a sense that my being a mother and my love for them can be read through my letters even if I'm gone. I also shared some nuggets of wisdom, worthy lessons I picked up along the way that can be useful to them. Also, it's about the tie that binds a mother to her daughters and vice versa. I hope that at the right time, these letters would serve their purpose.
