MISSION: Keep the VIP Dry

It should have been an ordinary Thursday morning. Only for this single, teeny-weeny difference.  It's flooded... again!

The water was manageable. Read: it wasn't a disaster.  There was no need to scrub the walls nor disinfect the floors.  But there were some water inside because of leaks. So we still need to do some washing and wiping.  But those are better than scrubbing and disinfecting the whole day.

I wasn't able to come to the office because I have a mission.  I need to bring R home at all cost.  Problem is, Mang T's (our school service guy) vehicle is not an amphibian.  It doesn't have the capacity to survive high tides.  What's a mom gonna do?  Well she needs to go to the nearest drop-off point with a bag - inside are R's slipper and towels so she can change gear and be prepared for the inevitable (which is to wade in the water); an umbrella (in case it rains again); a cellphone (if ever I need to ask for help); and a wallet (for whatever expense this mission would incur).

After several minutes, Mang T arrived.  R was surprised that I was waiting for her.  I secured her stuff and quickly helped her change into a more suitable footwear.  Good thing there was a pedicab.  I was praying for that while waiting for her.  A tricycle wouldn't do us any good since its motor wouldn't survive the water's depth and I know I wouldn't be able to carry R from the nearest dry point to our house.  The pedicab is our only hope.  It would drop us off near our gate, from this point on, I would need to give R a piggy back ride to our house.  Now, everything is manageable.

Here's how it happened.

I guess, in challenging circumstances, we just need to find ways to cope and enjoy the moment.
