It's cold tea with milk and bubbles (gooey starchy tapioca balls). The Zagu people call these "pearls." The Samalamig guys dubbed these "sago." I had mine with less sugar. Thus the slight bitter aftertaste. No complains there. The sweet tooth in me knows that the concoction would be tastier with more sugar.
Royal Milk Tea - Superwomom's first Bubble Tea |
All in all, I think Bubble Tea has something new to offer. The brewed tea and tapioca balls made fresh daily are just some of the reasons why you should try it. They have milk tea, green tea, black tea, tea slush, coffee and herb tea. Other than an impressive list of hot and cold beverages, they also have a good list of Japanese must-eats - Tokyo- bite sized snacks, doria, sushi and salad, don buri, omurice, pasta plate, noodle bowl, sandwiches and Tokyo entrees. It's also a nice and cozy place with free wi-fi. It's really a neat place to hangout, or even brainstorm. Oh, did I mention that it's Japanese? It is. Bubble Tea is the Tokyo Milk Tea Place. Drop by soon. I think you'll enjoy it there. I did.
