My Top 11 Places to Visit in Davao City

I love Davao City.  The system works there.  It's clean.  People follow the rules.  Taxi drivers give you change down to the last centavo.  I felt safe.  And I can go on and on...  Suffice it to say, we truly enjoyed our stay here.  So here's my top 10 places to visit in Davao City.  

1. The Gap Orchard Resort

It's a field trip. Get to know our heroes. Learn about Philippine myths like the kapre, tikbalang and nuno. Ride the swing. Go on a carabao ride. Identify the trees endemic to the Philippines. Go on a Japanese Tunnel.

2. Malagos Garden Resort

Orchids. Orchids. Orchids everywhere. The place was so pretty. And you should try their churros dipped in chocolate while staring at the beautiful and serene surroundings. Heavenly!

3. Davao Zorb Park

We decided to be a little adventurous. We were strapped into a ball and we were rolled over by two boys. It was fun and exhilarating at the same time.

4. Tribu K Mindanawan Cultural Village 

It was such a nice twist to a Davao trip. Seeing our ethnic and cultural dances made me all the more appreciative of our colorful heritage.  Sayang! We don't get to see a lot of these kinds of performances.

5. Magsaysay Park Fruits Stands

Your favorite fruit pick is here. Durian. Marang. Pomelo. Mangosteen. We braved the durian.  S's fell for the mangosteen. We were eating a kilo everyday because of her.

6. Davao Crocodile Park

Crocodiles in various shapes and sizes.  You may also have photo ops with some of the  animals in the park.

7. Aldevinco

You're one stop shop pasalubong center in Davao City.

8. Philippine Eagle Center

First time to see a Philippine eagle up close and personal. Amazing creatures.

9. Jack's Ridge

Waste time overlooking Davao City's lightscapes. You can have your dinner here too. And they have a playground to keep the kids entertained.

10. Eden Nature Park and Resort

Hectares of land which showcases different flora and fauna.  You tour the area riding a small jeep. We got to see an herb garden, a rainbow garden, an herbal medicine garden. We also got to enter a datu's house, lay in a hammock, and ride their own version of a zipline.

11. People's Park
A cultural-theme park in Davao where we posed by colorful statues, ran around, and played 'til night time.  It was a chill-out, cheap thrill which all of us enjoyed.
