1. SEONGSAN ILCHULBONG
We checked out early and went to Seongsan Ilchulbong or the Sunrise Peak.
It was a wonderful place to be. It felt like we're in the movies (more like the Sound of Music really) with sweeping landscapes. There were a lot of buses and visitors but we didn't mind. We just went around, took as much scenery as we can, and took photos.
2. SEOPJIKOJI
We drove to Seopjikoji. It's a treeless cliff overlooking the sea. It's also the location of the Korean drama series All In, where the chapel was used in the wedding scene.
Needless to say, the view was breathtaking - an impressive seascape where the wind billows while the sun kisses us with all its glory.
While going to our next destination, we just need to park along the road for this... canola flowers and sandy beach!
3. ICHUL LAND
After Seopjikoji, we went to Ichul Land. Here, we toured the popular Micheon cave. Since Jeju is a volcanic island, there were many lava tubes or caves like Micheon which were formed through flowing lava.
We also walked around their cactus garden.
They also have dol hareubang or stone grandfathers which were carved from porous volcanic rocks. They're believed to offer both protection and fertility.
We also enjoyed the landscape of the area with well-trimmed trees, flowering plants and even nice paintings.
And we fell in love with a pathway lined with canola flowers.
And by the way, roses here grow on trees.

4. JEJU FOLK VILLAGE
From Ichul Land, we went to Jeju Folk Village. This is where the folk heritage of Korea comes alive.
There were wonderful flower beds.
And the rose maze was something we got so excited about that we walked through it twice.
We were impressed with how they were able to preserve the traditional houses which were used as filming locations for Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Gum).
And the kids had a grand time riding the train and checking out the other folk houses.
5. JEONGBANG FALLS
We proceeded to Jeongbang Falls after Jeju Folk Village. Jeongbang is one of the three major waterfalls in Jeju Island. It's the only waterfall that directly drops into the sea. We also found out that products sold here are cheapest compared to anywhere in the island.

6. CHEONJIYEON FALLS
We went to another falls for our last stop. The place was so serene.
The Cheonjiyeon Falls has exquisite white water-column pouring down a cliff. The name, Cheonjiyeon, implies that the pond was created by the meeting of heaven and earth.

By the time we called it a day, we were right smack at the south-center of the island. We checked in at Namguk Hotel. It's very near Cheonjiyeon Falls and also very near the Jungmun area - the first stop on our itinerary for the next day. I love Namguk because it has the heated floor. And it has bigger beds.
