VISITA IGLESIA 2012 - The Start of a Family Tradition

Our family always commemorates Holy Week in the city.  This year, we started a family tradition.  Ramir and I have decided that it was time for us, together with the kids, to do the Visita Iglesia.  We were doing this before sans the kids.  But this year, we felt that it was time to do it with them.  R is "old" enough to understand why we're doing it and S is "big" enough to have the energy to go through the whole experience.  So, armed with bottles of water, some pantawid-gutom and Stations of the Cross pamphlets, our whole family - Yayay and L included, went into a Maundy Thursday adventure.

Our Visita Iglesia has two agendas: To do the Stations of the Cross - one station per church, and visit the Altar of Repose (where the Blessed Sacrament is installed) of each church.
14 Stations of the Cross.  14 Churches.  One night.  Five and a half hours of pilgrimage.

  1. Great post! Visita Iglesia is one of the Philippines annually revered devotions, a practice that entails visits to seven different churches during the Holy Week.
