Photoshop Project

This blogging thing is becoming therapeutic for me. It has become my creative outlet. I've recently tried doing some projects in Photoshop. This project is the one I'm truly proud of. In terms of how I pictured it in my head, I think I nailed this one. So I'm sharing it here. I would always be amazed with how children ponder on things, especially when they are trapped in their own world and magnetized by something new.

SUPERWOMOM'S NOTES:
I've taken this photo using a phone camera. I "autoleveled" it in Photoshop. I just experimented using the program's different brushes.

THE CITY THAT DOESN'T SLEEP #2

Central Park
I think this is one of the most exciting places to visit in New York. We went here the first time we set foot in the city. It helped that our apartelle was within walking distance of the park. It was huge to say the least. We weren't able to walk through the whole park but we were able to got a glimpse of a few locations where some famous movies were shot. I think for movie buffs, it is a must to take the Central Park Movie Tour. We actually booked this Tour 2 months in advance. It was free with the New York City Pass. Although it was tiring because it was a two-hour walking tour, the experience was like walking into different movie scenes.

Walkers on the tour will have an opportunity to visit the Boathouse CafĂ© used in When Harry Met Sally, the Bandshell from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Kramer vs. Kramer, along with Bethesda Fountain as seen in Gossip Girl and Enchanted. The tour also includes a stop to take photos at Tavern on the Green, from Ghostbusters, a glance at Wollman Rink used in Love Story and Serendipity, and time to feed pigeons at the exact spot where Macaulay Culkin fed them in Home Alone 2.

The tour also brought us to the John Lennon memorial. A stone's throw away is The Dakota - where the famous Beatle member was shot.

THE CITY THAT DOESN'T SLEEP #1

I have never really thought that I would be travelling to the other side of the world for New York City. It was a dream come true, especially that I've taken the trip with my husband. It was a case of "we'll always have New York City" scenario for me. My succeeding posts wouldn't just be about my art and passion for quotable quotes but also about our memorable adventures. This series would be about New York City through my lens and how it was preserved in my memory.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY
AND THE ELLIS ISLAND IMMIGRATION MUSEUM
This was the first thing that we saw that made me really feel that we're indeed in America. It wasn't white as I thought it would be. It was a huge chunk of green. My mind went, "so this is Liberty?". We went around the park and the souvenir shop. There wasn't really much thing to do but to take pictures and savor the fact that Liberty is upclose and personal.

SUPERWOMOM'S NOTES
The Statue of Liberty National Monument and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum can be reached through a short ferry ride either on the New York or New Jersey side. Packaged tours abound. We purchased the New York City Pass good for 7 days. It saved us a lot of time and energy since the Pass included 40 major attractions in New York City. You may click on this site for pertinent information - http://www.newyorkpass.com/

One quote and art a day, keep the stress away.

This should be my resolve. To hone my skill in painting and to constantly look for quotable quotes. I think I'm passionate about these two. I love doing them, it makes my life less stressful and more exciting. So here's the deal. I'll try my best to post an artwork (whether it be a painting, a doodle, a graphic design, etc.). I'll also try to accompany it with a quotable quote that maybe related or unrelated to my artwork. I promise to devote a time of my day in doing this. As an opening salvo - here's what I got.

"Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground."

Theodore Roosevelt
